Write Up:

Our list of participants dropped down considerably, most likely because I didn't have internet all week long and couldn't update the list. Chuck took a chance and showed up anyways and he was generally welcome. Lots of familiar faces this week - Jo made an astonishing comeback despite the tragic last round of her last outing. She started off her first few circuits very carefully, but slow and steady she found her edge by the end of the evening. Russ has been to several skate events now and is starting to become a familiar face, hopefully he and Sammy will be available for some weekend hikes! Vitaly appeared to be challenged by skating but he seems to be the type of person who loves a challenge, just like Chetan, who was diligently working on his technique and he's really starting to glide...Pat & Lydia showed up super early so we briefly waived at each other as we hit the ice. Carolyn offered to take some action pics, but it seems she needs some work on standing still...she was our only wipeout this evening, but blamed the camera. Maybe skating backwards should be our next challenge? Jianfeng let us know that she's moving out of Toronto to sunnier locations, so this was one of her last icy adventures! The ice surface left something to be desired, however we all enjoyed ourselves at all levels of skating - and the free hot chocolate was yummy as usual

Later we tromped to the bar upstairs where we enjoyed speciality coffees, or just plain beer. I worked on Michelle to up her status from "guest" to "member", as Julian knows, resistance is futile once I'm on your case! All in all, a very enjoyable evening!
