Write Up:

It was my first "official" event as the newly appointed Photo Historian, and wouldn't you know I forgot my camera. So, just close your eyes and use your imagination and I promise I'll have plenty of shots next time around!

There were a lot of unfamiliar names on the list for me so I was a bit worried that people would have problems finding me. It was a busy night at the Natrel rink, not quite as packed as when they had the DJ nights last year, but still a line up for the rentals. However, I managed to find most of our group - thankfully most TOC members don't have a problem with asking around until they find one of us. On this particular night, the event belonged to the Daves- David Block, Dave M, Dave Y and Chris brought his friend (and future TOC member!) Dave. We may have to add a Dave count to our Stats page! We had a good mix of new faces and familiar faces, as well as expert skaters and newbies. Chetan and David B and Lydia bravely made their rounds on the ice - Perkin, Jenn P and I found our skate legs from last year and felt like we were improving steadily...this is my third season of skating after a long time off and believe me, it gets easier every year. I noticed that Barbara, Dave M, Kate and Pat helping our new skaters make a few rounds.

Although I had a few people who checked in with me at the beginning of the evening, I didn't see them again on the ice. I hope that Rachel and Kelly were having too much fun skating to find the rest of us and were not actually skating around looking for our group! We skated for about an hour or so, and then some of us had enough and headed over to Shoeless Joe's for a bite to eat and a drink (or two). Others wanted to do some more skating and met up with us later. We ended up with quite a large group, which exasperated the wait staff - sorry! - but we enjoyed the company. Sue and Kate found Jason C and brought him along.

Keep tuned to the calendar for more skating events and next time I promise to bring my camera!!
