Hi everyone,

Thanks for joining me for the Alphabet Hike Edition E yesterday.

We collected $4 in donations, which help pay for the web services and maintenance of the site, as well as annual events like the $20 Smackers Social (coming soon! keep your eyes out).

Eight eager TOC members met at Eglinton station, excited to get some exercise and escape the city's concrete edges. We exited the station and headed east. The walk along Eglinton wasn't too enjoyable, as we dealt with the traffic's exhaust.
Finally we arrived at Sunnybrook park's entrance, where we exhaled a breath of relief. Fall was in the air as far as the eye could see and our spirits were elated! Watching the young runners training enlivened our step and our energy. We carried on to our goal.
Arriving at the epic Edwards Gardens, we explored the trails, embracing the beauty of the flora. I think I can say without exaggeration that this hike exceeded our expectations and was enjoyed by all! The End ;)

By the way, a couple of you were wondering why throwing your banana peels, apple cores etc. into the woods goes against the Leave No Trace principles. I found a short article that explains it and also contains a cute (also short) video.

Looking forward to our next Encounter!
Cheers
