A long hike!

note: there is a washroom at 10.5 km point in the park.

Definitely have to do this one again. We hiked only 33 km because we saw very dark clouds advancing toward us and t-storms were forecast, and we decided to turn back at the 16.5 km point. We got rained on heavily for a few short periods, but nothing too serious.

The last portion of the beach that we hiked was very interesting. The beach was about 10-12 feet wide when a wave would recede, but 1 or 2 feet wide when a large wave washed up on the beach. And the beach was strewn with fallen trees and some logs which had to be climbed or jumped over. That meant that we had to time our progression with the breaking waves to keep our shoes dry. Some of us got wet shoes, which in the end did not matter since the heavy downpours soaked all of our shoes.

7 hours with a short lunch break on the beach, and a few short w/c breaks. quite a quick pace.
