Tue, Feb 4 2014 - Morning HIke - Rosedale Station 10k (View Original Event Details)
|
There were four of us on this morning's hike. The weather was beautiful, about -6C with little wind, so a nice change from frigid wind chill temperatures. The weekend snow made the trails less icy than usual.
The pre-Christmas storm shattered numerous trees. It was impressive to see that most of the trees have been cleared away. There were a few tree removal crews still working. This has been a huge task.
It was unusual but we didn't see any birds today. This may have been influenced by several people walking their dogs.
We completed the hike in 2 hrs 15 mins, a 4.4 kph pace including stops.
$4.00 was collected in voluntary donations. Thank you.
