Write Up:

There were four people on today's event. The temperature was around -7C but was -17C with wind chill. There was lots of snow everywhere and it was very pretty. Even the Christmas tree at Logan Square was full of snow and you almost couldn't see it's branches.

Hiking along the Lower Don Trail was hard work at times and very good exercise. We often had to break trail. There were lots of people out hiking, running and skiing. There were even three cyclist, skidding a bit, but all things considered, they did very well.

At the bridge that crosses to the west side of the Don River, there were male & female mallard ducks and a pair of Mute Swan. We also saw a male, female & immature snow geese - blue phase. I've called the conservation authority to try to get a positive ID of the geese. The male had a yellow breast which seemed unusual. This is my best guess for now.

The Christmas Market at The Distillery Market was quite busy. It was hard to stay together there. Some listened to the carol singing on stage, some shopped and some went to the theatre cafe for a snack.

A few of us walked back to the Yonge / University subway.

$0.00 was collected in voluntary donations.
