It turned out to be another very hot day and a hot and humid hike. All creeks and waterfalls were dry or almost dry and that left the flow of water to our imagination. Even the main Balls Falls was dry. One of the highlights of the hike was the scramble along the waterbed and on the rocks along the shore to the upper falls of the Ball's Falls Conservation Area. There, within the shade of the cliffs and near few tickles of waterwe had a nice relaxing lunch. Although the most of our route was fairly flat in terms of elevation, the actual trail was challenging due to uneven terrain. We made frequent stops to rest and for opportunities to take some photos. The average moving pace was just under 4 km/hr and we hiked just under 21km in total. We did pass a couple of wineries along the way, but hiking the extra few hundred meters in the blazing sun to get to them was just not enticing enough. Due to demands of the trail and the heat, a number of folks began running out of water towards the end of the hike and we could not wait to get to the cool refreshments at the end. We stopped at the Kilt and Clover Pub in Beamsville (location not yet showing up on GPS) but it's on King Street just west of Mountain Road. It had decent food and great selection of brews on tap. With all the stops and dinner/drinks, it made for a long day and we made it back to Kipling by 9 PMish.

Overall, it was a great hike with a great group of folks! Thank you to everyone for coming out.

Thank you to Morteza, Bahman and Galina for driving. Also thanks to Grace who helped with the car shuttle.

$21 in voluntary donations to TOC was collected with thanks.
