Sun, Mar 4 2012 - Birding at Toronto Islands (View Original Event Details)

It was sunny and relatively warm when we caught the ferry to Ward's Island at 10 a.m. We first walked along the north side of the island toward the yacht club, then cut back to the boardwalk on the south side of the island, finishing our day with a warm drinks and food at the Rectory Cafe, before heading back to Toronto on the 1:15 p.m. ferry.
Along the way we saw:
- Oldsquaws
- Common mergansers
- Buffleheads
- Common goldeneyes
- Scaups (not sure whether they were greater or lesser)
- Canada geese
- American robins
- Mute swans
- Black-capped chickadee
