Write Up:
With a weather forecast less than stellar, four intrepid T.O.C cyclists headed for Owen Sound last Friday with high hopes for a good weekend . Under the able leadership of David Block, we left Toronto in time to beat the weekend traffic and get set-up at the KOA campground on the outskirts of Owen Sound . Thanks to Helene and her bilingual van, the four of us were able to travel in one vehicle with all our bikes and gear. The skies offered a mix of sun and cloud over the 2 1/2 days and virtually no rain. It was perfect! We cycled quiet paved roads on both sides of the Bruce peninsula, went swimming in Georgian Bay and Lake Huron and enjoyed food from local eateries. The pace was relaxed and the scenery awe inspiring. Sunday, it was very difficult to leave Sauble Beach on a perfect summer evening but we managed to tear ourselves away and get back into Toronto before midnight. By Frank Goldthorpe
