Write Up:
This was a great day to be out tubing and snowshoeing! The weather was perfect: sunny, warmish (well, it felt warm for this time of year), clear skies, and best of all, lots of snow.

Once we arrived at Snow Valley, we rented our tubes, and hit the hills. The morning wasn't too busy, line-ups for the tubing lifts weren't very long, so we were able to get a few good runs before lunch. The Snow Valley staff were very obliging and gave our tubes good spins to start our sliding journey downhill! Most of us were able to try going down both in groups, and as individuals. Lots of screams, and lots of fun.

After a lunch break -- which we all took together in the Snow Valley cafeteria -- we were ready to go out again. This time, we went out in smaller groups of 2 to 4 to explore the shoeshoeing trails. Some had their own snowshoes; some who rented had never been on showshoes before. Fortunately, there are trails which vary from easy to difficult, and so each person was able to go at their comfort level. It was great exercise, and many people were able to do more than one trail in the afternoon.

By the time we finished snowshoeing, it had been a very full day. We considered the option of going out to dinner, but everyone opted to head home for some warmth and rest. Overall, a fun day in the snow.

The summary of finances for this day -- total donations collected: $11.70; total number of Toronto Outdoor Club patches sold: 7.

As a final note, a particularly warm welcome to Pam and Angela, for whom this was their first event. Welcome to the Toronto Outdoor Club!
