It turned out to be a good combination of a lecture and a hike. When we left Kipling station, Toronto was covered in thick fog; however, as soon as we jumped on 410 we were welcomed by sun and blue sky. The weather has stayed awesome for the rest of the day. The lecture-hike took two hours and was quite informative -- because we knew so little about trees to begin with :) Many thanks to Credit Valley Conservation staff for the lecture and hot chocolate/tea/coffee (!) after the hike. After a quick lunch we set out on a hike, taking Bruce trail north of Terra Cotta. The trail there was enjoyable, especially since we knew which trees we were passing by (including, but not limited to willows, maples, ashes, beeches, oaks, cedars, ironwood trees, pines, and spruce trees). By 3 pm we returned back to the parking lot and headed back to Toronto.
