The Labour Day long weekend at the Wolf Den was a home-away-from-home paradise. We enjoyed hikes to Ragged Falls and Mizzy Lake, as well as paddling on Oxtongue Lake, where we basked in the sunshine, saw wildlife, and forgot all about the stress of urban living. We had delectable potluck feasts, specially prepared snack plates, and plenty of laughter throughout the weekend. We didn't want to leave and eagerly anticipated the next Wolf Den outing.
The following are a few highlights of the trip as from participants:
Sandra: “Shooting stars, culinary feasts, laughing till you belly hurts, live entertainment, amazing minds, adventuresome hikes are just a few of the simple pleasures that help create a one of a kind magical weekend. Wow...Better yet - pictures say it all - I will send to TOC for posting shortly. Thank you Mama Jean for coordinating!”
Pauline: “Had a great weekend - spontaneous star-gazing, a mix of hiking and paddling, great food, awesome company. Thanks for planning a great event, Jean.”
Agnes: “It was a great weekend in Algonquin! We enjoyed hiking and paddling despite the wet and cold weather. The highlight after each day was coming ‘home’ to a wonderfully kept hostel with a beautiful sauna and best of all a gourmet potluck with awesome TOC members.”
Anita: “The weather wasn’t great, the scenery was great, the food was greater, and the people were the greatest! We will all remember Jean’s first coordinated TOC event fondly.”
David: "I enjoyed especially talking with other participants and eating the WONERFUL food we all prepared. Jean, you coordinated a great first event and I look forward to your future events!"
