Write Up:

A small but enthusiastic group of walkers found a real treasure in Brampton's south-east corner - Claireville Conservation Area. On a beautiful June evening, we discovered a horse ranch, saw deer, heron, and a multitude of smaller birds, said 'hello' to perhaps 20 different dogs (and their owners of course :-), and enjoyed a country walk in the middle of Canada's biggest metropolitan area. The trail system wanders through open grassland, past beaver poinds, beside wooded areas, under mature forest canopy, and past large sports fields, all in an area bounded by Hwy's 7 to 407, Goreway Rd to Hwy 50. We'll definitely be back to walk this area again!
