I wouldn't dare to presume to speak for the other individuals in the group, so here are their comments about what they got from this session, in their own words...
Alison Glenn's comments were encouraging, gently critical (in the best possible way), and enlightening... I went into this session thinking that I'm a not-bad photographer. Came out realizing how many things I can, and need, to do, to get better! While the world may be going digital, I plan to dust off my trusty old Canon AE-1, get some film, and go back to basics.
Ken The workshop exceeded my expectations and was fantastic. Glenn's meticulous and insightful critique was inspiring. The wide range of technical solutions he offered has changed my perspective on the possibilities of digital photography. I will definitely spend some time experimenting with filters and a tripod to learn how to balance the exposure of my photos more accurately.
Dean I am a beginning photographer and I wanted to learn some of the basics on how to set up a shot and what to look for to avoid some common mistakes and I think I got that out of the event. Hope to see something like this again - would definitely attend.
Li It was really fun. 3 hours went so quick. I really enjoyed every minute of it.
Robbin I did enjoy the seminar, but it was not was I expected. I had hoped there'd be more tips on how to take a good photo in the first place, rather than just what to do with Photoshop/Aperture afterwards. What I enjoyed most was hearing other people's thoughts on their photos and seeing the possibilities of locations and different photo styles. What I got out of it most was some incentive to try out my circular polarizer more often (the tip about having room for animals to walk off the photo was also very useful)! ... I am definitely happy that ... I attended this time, and would look for similar events in the future to help improve my photography.
