With rain in the forecast, everyone was expecting it. This time around the forecast was accurate.

After an adventure travelling through some high grass, which took us off the beaten trail, we were completely drenched from the waist down. We were soon back on track after finding an abandoned section of road that led back to the trail proper. Ghanesh brought a map of the trail with him, which at times gave the organizer some false faith in actually knowing where he was going. After returning to the trail it was an easy hike to the lunch spot and our halfway point for the day.

It was while we were leaving for the journey back that it started to rain. It was around this point that the organizer set the pace to the actual advertised pace of 4 to 5 km/h. We took a brief break (letting everyone catch up) under a highway bridge before forging ahead.

We found the really steep gravel hill that the trail is known for, and we made the ascent with relative ease. It was sometime after this point that the trail led us off into a bit of an unofficial side trail, and then into a plain riverside area. We had to bushwhack for a while, but after coming across a long abandoned camp we soon found our way back to the trail proper.

By the end of the hike most of us were drenched, had waterlogged footwear, tired, and two pairs of sunglasses lighter, but everyone appeared to have a great time.
