On Friday morning we will drive up, and meet at the Monck Rd. put in point.. From the put in we will paddle across Head Lake to Fishhog up through Round Lake to Long Lake eventually grabbing a campsite on Crooked Lake. Saturday will consist of a day trip jumping numerous beaver dams and four portages(combined total less than 1km) to get into Victoria Lake for lunch. From there we can check out Peter's Pond or Wolf Lake or a section of the Ganaraska Trail before heading back to camp. On Sunday morning we will leave camp at 10 am to make it back to the cars then on to a local eatery to have a meal and sort out shared costs then head back to Toronto to be back by 6pm the latest.(I hope!) Trip goes on..rain or shine There will be a pretrip planning sheet to make sure everyone has proper gear. We will not have to portage to our initial campsite so we can bring a few luxury items this time. The temperature will drop at night so it'll be nice to be prepared. Make sure you are capable of camping in the cooler weather. Beginner canoeist with a bit of experience are invited to sign up. DRIVERS WILL GET PRIORITY.. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE TRIP AND IT IS FULL, GO ON THE WAITING LIST AS THERE MAY BE DROP OUTS BEFORE REGISTRATION CLOSES.

Required Items to Bring:
Overnight camping gear: tent, colder weather sleeping bag,sleeping pad. Details to follow, especially as regards tent and canoe-sharing.

Cold weather sleeping bag. Canoes must be no more than 16'6" the lighter the better! MEC has awesome canoe rental prices and terms

Cost Includes:

You are responsible for renting your own canoe, paddles and life jackets (Count on spending between $50 to $80 each for the weekend on this. Food will cost another $15 or $20 or if you binge like me $50. Add the carpool on to that and you're looking at a max of about $130 for the three days.

*Note: Drivers get priority. I will expand the group if enough people sign up. Please be sure you can make the trip, last minute cancellations on canoe trips can be very disruptive.
