Itinerary:

So, December 24, 2007 was the last time a train used the now abandoned 'Don Branch.' To commemorate the 5 year closure of the track, I'll run an urban hike from St. Clair Station to Broadview Station.

We follow these directions

  1. Leave St. Clair Subway Station
  2. South through David Belfour Park
  3. North through Clorey Park and over the Governors Bridge
  4. South through Crothers Woods and the Don Branch
  5. South to the Governors Lookout and through the Don Valley Brickworks
  6. North along the Bayview Bike Trail
  7. South along the Don Valley Trail Alternate
  8. South along the Don Branch
  9. North through Riverdale Park
  10. End at Broadview Station

Total distance = 11 KM and we'll try to do a pace of 4.5-5.0 km/h

  • Good footwear
  • Water 1-2 L and snacks
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Flashlight or headlight

How to Get There:
Event Directions:St. Clair Subway Station is located on the Yonge/University Subway Line. Meet at the entrance on the south side of St. Clair Ave, beside the McDonalds, near the collectors booth.
