Geocaching (pronounced gee-oh-cashing) is a world-wide game that started in May 2000. Everyone but everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Essentially, it's a technology-driven treasure hunt. Using a GPS (global positioning system), you track down caches (commonly small Tupperware containers, but the list is only limited by imagination) which have been hidden in public places (usually the woods and parks). But there's so much more to it!
During the upcoming fall and winter, I will host several geocaching hikes both in and out of the city. Sounds like something you want to learn more about? Come to my presentation, where I will unlock the mysteries of geocaching for you. We'll learn about:
As an added bonus, I will be having a door prize and giving away one trackable geo-frog! | |||||
