Itinerary:

We will depart Friday night for Killarney Provincial Park, southwest of Sudbury near the shores of Georgian Bay. We should arrive late in the evening, and will set up camp in the main campground at George Lake.

Saturday morning we will head out to the La Cloche Silhouette trail, and backpack 12k to our campsite on Proulx Lake. Along the way we will pass lakes, marsh, beaver dams and climb up into the La Cloche Mountains and up The Crack, a famous....you guessed it, crack.....filled with boulders that the trail climbs straight up. The view from the ridges on the top is amazing.

Due to site limitation, we will be basecamping, but will have plenty of challenging options for hikes further up the La Cloche for Sunday. Monday we will head back along the trail to the cars and to Toronto.

Preference for spots on this trip will be given to those who are coming on the Pukaskwa/Lake Superior backpacking trip(s).

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $196.08 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Monday, April 28, 2025). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

Notes:

- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the TOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with full refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where TOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refund of money if you cancel.
