I thought I would try something different for a weekday hike. I have done most of this trail many times on weekends,
but for those of you who don't hike on weekends, here it is for you

we will walk to Guild Park and Gardens, then down to the waterfront and along Doris McCarthy trail for about 5 km
we will ascend a gradual hill of about 100m
the last few km of our hike will be on side streets and through McCowan District Park Trail
the trails are mostly paved with some on gravel
