Itinerary:

Please note my earlier than normal start time of Noon.

So, three parks opened in the summer and I thought I'd do a hike to check them all out

  • The Lower Don Trail reopened from just north of Riverdale Park to Queen Street on August 1.
  • Biidaasige Park West opened on July 24
  • The CIBC Square Elevated Park is now connected between both the north and south towers as of June 4.

This 15.5 KM hike will start from Broadview Station and end at Union Station.
For those of you who do not want to complete the entire hike or get sick of my ugly face:
-We'll pass the Distillery Streetcar Loop (504 King) at the 6.5 KM mark
-We'll also pass Queens Quay Streetcar station at the 12 KM mark.

The hike will be on a combination of sidewalks, single track dirt trails and paved multi use trails.

In terms of hills, I'm going to cheat by taking 3 escalators.
So, its up to you, if you'd like to make it a hill or not.

I'll attempt to stop for a washroom break at 1.5 KM at Todmorden Mills & 10 KM at the Biidaasige Park washrooms.

Dogs are permitted on this hike, but you'll have to drop off at the 14 KM mark once we get to Queens Quay Streetcar Station as they are not permitted in the new CIBC Square Elevated Park, sorry

Post hike, I'll go grab a pint and maybe a pizza on the patio at King Taps, if anyone would like to join me.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

Broadview Station is located on the Bloor/Danforth Subway Line. It is three stops east of Bloor/Yonge station.

For those of you driving, Broadview Station is located on the east side of Broadview Avenue, just north of Danforth.
    Address is 769 Broadview Avenue
In terms of parking, there's a Green P lot located one block north of the station on Erindale Avenue.

We'll meet near the only entrance to the station. Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt,
If its dry, most likely I'll be just beside the station entrance on the side of the streetcar tacks.
If its wet, I'll probably just be inside the station entrance.
