Itinerary:

Let's spend the day near and on the water! You can sign up for all or some items on the following itinerary:

11:30am-12:30pm. The day starts with land exercises for kayaking. We will do some warm-ups, stretching, and I will show you exercises that you can do at home to improve your kayaking form. Even if you have never kayaked before, these exercises will help you learn the right movements or increase your flexibility. If you take kayak lessons in the summer the moves the instructors will ask you to do will feel familiar, and you will get more out of the lessons.

12:30pm-1pm. After the exercises we will have bring-your-own lunch and chat about kayaking.

1pm-3pm.You will be renting a kayak for a 2-hour self-guided rental at Toronto Adventures. You can then explore Humber river on your own or stick with the main group. If you have your own kayak or SUP, you can bring it with you, but allow extra time to unload it.

Toronto Adventures does not require you to have kayaking experience, but would like you to have a waterproof bag with a change of clothes, in case you manage to get wet. It is not that easy to flip the kayaks they rent out, but things happen. A PFD (personal flotation device) must be worn at all times while on the water.

You're responsible for your own booking with Toronto Adventures. Click on the link, choose Book Now, select 16 May, 1pm, 1 single kayak. After you've registered, please send me a text message confirming that you've paid.

When signing up, specify in the Notes section 1. which activities you plan to join; 2. your kayaking experience and goals
