Itinerary:

Welcome to my Chasing Waterfalls Series (or as my friend calls it "Jason Waterfalls")
where we are hiking to different waterfalls in the GTA, which can be accessed by public transit.

This 14.5 KM figure 8 hike will both start and finish at Hamilton Centre Go Station.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water.
We'll stop for lunch somewhere along the trail for lunch.

If you cannot walk the entire distance please do not sign up for this hike.

    EVENT STATS
  • Level of hike: Moderate
  • Distance: 14.5 KM
  • Terrain: Single track dirt trails, sidewalks, paved park paths and flat rail trails, which could either be muddy or icy.
  • Trail vs Road: 9 km vs 5 km
  • Elevation Range: 100 Meters
  • Challenging Climbs of Note: 3 climbs of 25 meters & 2 climbs of at least 50 meters.
  • Largest Climb: 90 meters
  • Washrooms: Sorry, no washrooms on the hike
  • Highlights: 'PRINCESS FALLS' and 'CLIFFVIEW FALLS'

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

    We'll meet near the north exit of Hamilton Go Centre Station.
    If its cold or wet, then I'll just be inside the station doors.

    To get to Hamilton Go Centre Station, you have a couple of options.
    ---You can take the Lakeshore West 9:17 Go Train (making all stops) from Union Station and then @ ALDERSHOT switch to the 10:34 ROUTE 18 bus over to Hamilton Go Cnetre.
    ---Or take the 9:30 ROUTE 16 bus Union Station directly to Hamilton Go Centre Station.
    ---Or take the 9:10 ROUTE 47 bus from Highway 407 Station / 9:47 from Square One directly to Hamilton GO Centre Station.

    For those of you driving, the Hamilton Go Centre Station is located at 36 Hunter St East.

    In Terms of parking, there's only paid parking near the station.
    There are 2 parking lots just north of the station on Hughson St.
