NOTE: THE CARPOOL LEAVES SHEPPARD WEST STATION @ 10:00 AM

This D3.5 in/out hike to Belfountain Conversvation Area is a moderate to challenging hike with rolling terrain with a few steep ascents.

Most exciting feature of this hike is a waterfall in Belfountain Conservation Area and the oppostunity to purchase Kawartha Lakes ice cream.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water. We will stop for breaks to enjoy the countryside, but there will not be any drop offs.

Total Distance is approx. 15 km

If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike.

Note: There are no washroom facilities at the start of the hike, but there are some at the lunch spot.

DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!! If this is not completed, you will be moved to the wait list, until I get an answer.

    Event Directions:

    Event Directions: Leaving Sheppard West - take the Allen Road south to the 401.

    -Travel west along Highway 401 to Highway 410 (15 KM).

    -Merge with Highway 410 and follow it North for approx. 35 km (NOTE: HWY 410 will eventually turn into HWY 10) - Also, if you go into the town of Caledon Village, you've gone too far north!!!

    -Turn Left at Escarpment Side Road (NO TRAFFIC LIGHT) and travel west for 1.5 KM.

    Meet at the corner of Escarpment Side Road and Wiloughby Road.

    Note: There are no washroom facilities at the start point of this hike and very few on Highway 10.

    Notes:
    • I’ve set the maximum event count at 1 as I don’t want to add anyone to the event until I have enough carpool drivers to accommodate passengers. I would like to take around 16 people, but I'm willing to try to accommodate up to 20
    • If we are short of drivers, they will get priority on the waiting list.
    • This hike will go ahead rain or shine. If it's raining, please wear appropriate rain gear
    • If you choose to meet at the event, please arrive on time, I will not be waiting for late comers..
