Itinerary:

Doors Open is an annual series of events, when many sites in Ontario communities open their doors to the general public. We will visit a few such sites in Ancaster (Hamilton) as part of this hike, and also see some small waterfalls.

Note: Drivers will get preference on the waiting list. I'll increase the maximum number of participants as we get more drivers.

We'll meet at Kipling TTC Station at 9:00 am, and then drive to Ancaster. You can also meet us directly in Ancaster, at 9:55 am, at Hamilton Public Library - Ancaster Branch (300 Wilson St E, Ancaster, ON L9G 2B9)

We'll start hiking around 10 am, and finish by around 3-4 pm. We expect to be back at Kipling Station by 5 pm.

You can meet us at either of these places:

9:00 am (Meet at Carpool): Kipling Station Passenger Pick-up and Drop-off (the circular structure outside the TTC station), off Aukland Rd at Subway Crescent, off Dundas St (Map) . Carpool departure at 9:02 am. TTC Line 2 will be closed between Kennedy and Victoria Park stations. Please plan your journey accordingly.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $38.70 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Tuesday, April 23, 2024). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

Notes:
  • This hike will go on in case of moderate rain. It'll be canceled only if a severe thunderstorm is forecast.
  • Dog owners bring their own cars (or find drivers who are willing to let dogs inside their vehicles). Dogs are required to be on leash within the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
