NOTE: I will add more spots as more drivers sign-up to participate in the carpool for the hike. Please add yourself to the waiting list. Waiting list preference will go to new members (5 or fewer events) first.

NOTE ON DOGS: Dogs are only welcomed on this hike if you are a driver. Passengers are NOT allowed to bring their dog.

We'll be hiking in the Hockley Valley on the Niagara Escarpment.

This is a D4 hike for the pace and terrain. You must be able to keep up with the group and be able to handle going up and down steep hills.

This is an 13.5 km hike. The hike will take 3 hours. Driving will take 1 hour each way.

Start We will be meeting at the passenger pick-up at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station Please arrive on time as we will be leaving at 10:45 AM sharp.
End After the hike, passengers will be dropped off at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (unless drivers are willing to drop off passengers elsewhere)
Distance Approx. 13.5 km
Pace 4.5 km/hour (average pace for fit and younger individuals, above-average pace for others)
Trail Conditions We will be hiking on dirt trails. Please note that Hockey Valley has many steep trails and you must be able to keep up with the group if attending this hike.
Difficulty This is a D4 hike because of the pace and terrain. Please only sign up for the hike if you can handle hiking at 4.5km/hour and repeatedly going up and down large hills.

Suitable Footwear (hiking boots are recommended, as there may be muddy parts of the trail)

Money to pay the driver gas money for the carpool (we will be paying before we leave - no money, no travel!). The carpool cost will be about $6-8 per person.
