Itinerary:

Be the most proactive hiker on your block, get your hiking for 2018 out of the way now! All the cool kids are doing it.

This is an intermediate hike. There is only one really steep climb, but a lot of smaller hills, with significant elevation gain and loss. There will also be a couple of stiles to climb over. Also some muddy and icy areas.

This hike will go ahead in bad weather (snow/rain etc.), unless it is dangerous to do so.

Icers are strongly recommended. We may not need them for the entire hike, but they will likely be useful. A flashlight or headlamp is required.

Please bring a lunch and plenty of water. We will stop for breaks to enjoy the countryside, but it will not be possible to drop off the hike once it begins. You should be confident about being able to walk the entire distance before signing up for this hike.

Well behaved, well socialized dogs are welcome to come on the hike, but must be on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. Please be prepared to carry your dog over any stiles and fences we have to cross. Please pick up after your dog. Please indicate if you are bringing a dog when you sign up.

We're aiming to have about 12-13 people total on the hike.

The total distance we'll hike will be roughly 14km.

The hike is on Map 13 (Silver Creek) in the 29th edition of the Bruce Trail Guide. You don't have to bring a map, this is just extra information for those who have the Bruce Trail Guide.

DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!
