Itinerary:

The terrain is variable with hilly and rocky sections. Length of hike is about 20 km, pace 4.5 km/h. Map 9.

This hike is suitable for intermediate hikers who like to step up the pace. It is not suitable for beginners or those who prefer slower hikes. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have D4 level hiking experience. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include some comments in the notes about your hiking background to convince me that you can keep up.

A combination "in and out" and a series of loops along the rushing water of Grindstone Creek, forested slopes, mature woodlots, and the Falls in Waterdown.

Members willing to drive, regular D4 hikers and members with favourable attendance records may get first priority on the wait list. Passengers will be added as drivers become available. Note: on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.
