Itinerary:

The terrain is variable, rocky, with hilly sections, with spectacular scenery and natural beauty. Length of hike is 26 km, pace is 5 km/h. The fastest hikers can go at their own pace and meet us at the Judge and Jester Pub at the end. Maps 5 and 4.

This hike is suitable for strong intermediate or advanced hikers. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have, preferably, D5 level experience, or minimally, D4 level experience on the hike leader's events. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include some comments in the notes about your hiking experience.

We'll meet at the parking lot at the Beamer Memorial Conservation Area outside Grimsby and shuttle to the Ball's Falls Conservation Area. We'll follow twenty mile creek to where it plummets over the falls, expect raging torrents from all the spring run off. While at the falls we'll take a few minutes to experience a mid 19th century industrial hamlet with flour mill, lime kiln, a church, black smith shop and carriage shed. We'll then hike back towards Grimsby.

Passengers will continue into Grimsby and head to a pub for refreshments, drivers will go back for their cars and meet us in Grimsby.

Those willing to drive, regular D5 hikers, and and members with favourable attendance histories will be given preference on the waiting list. Passengers will be added as drivers become available.
