Itinerary:

What better place to be on Boxing Day than the Dundas Valley Conservation Area? Magnificent views, Carolinian forests, deep stream valleys, and high ridges - it's a great place to hike.

The terrain is variable, length is 20 kms, pace 4.5 km/h. Map 8.

This hike is suitable for intermediate hikers. It is not suitable for beginners. If it isn't obvious from your TOC record that you can do this hike, please, when registering, include some comments in the notes to convince me that you can keep up.

Starting from Sherman Falls, we'll hike multiple loops on Dundas Valley Conservation Area trails. We'll traverse the Main Trail, Main Loop, the Headwaters Trail, and Hilltop Trail, and pass by the Hermitage ruins, the historic Griffin House and the Trail Centre.

Note: If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.

On this event, everyone goes on the waiting list and drivers get on first, once we have drivers, we'll add passengers. Some preference may be given to regular D4 hikers, or those who have taken the trouble to add a note.
