Itinerary:

Hockley Valley is a perfect spot for an autumn hike.

I'm throwing an intervention for myself, so I hope you'll come tell me to straighten up and live right. I didn't make time for any hiking at all in October (well, besides backpacking - don't give me such a hard time!) Plus, I probably don't even need to tell you how much Hallowe'en candy I've eaten.

This will be a brisk hike of moderate length. We'll be going to Hockley Valley (mostly south of the Provincial Park, but we'll go up into it too). I'd like to keep a pace of 4kph minimum and go about 19km total. Hockley is reknowned for being a hilly area.

It looks like the weather will be sunny, but cool so far. There may be some residual mud from the wet earlier in the week though.

I usually like to start it early, but for the benefit of you all, we'll meet at Downsview station for 9:45am sharp which should hopefully give you time to use the subway if you need it.

Drivers seem to be scarce this weekend, so I'll be monitoring the situation closely. If I can't pull out any carpool drivers besides myself, we may be pooched. We'll see :)
