Itinerary:

Long known for doing what I'm told, here on orders I administer a Snow Tubing event at Snow Valley!

To prevent me from feeling completely lazy I've successfully lobbied for a moderate hike afterwards so that we can all be at least a little bit active :)

I've only been snowtubing once before, but such places seem much less busy in the mornings than the afternoons. Therefore, rather than wait in lineups let's plan to be out there early; we'll rip through a bunch of runs with (fewer) impediments before spending our afternoon trudging through the snow.

Tubing is a lot of fun, especially to go down together as a group ;)

For the hike, I'm going to strongly recommend crampons/icers/some-sort-of-extra-grips-for-your-boots. When we were out in January there were a number of people uncomfortable with the slippery conditions -- we may not see that this weekend, but it's hard to know. Come prepared to deal with icy terrain.

Snow Tubing
We'll be going to 'Snow Valley' which charges $25 for 4 hours or $20 for 2 hours. I (and my overlords) suggest that we grab the 4 hour pass, and we can always skip out slightly earlier if appropriate.

Hiking
We'll be going to nearby ... okay, well. I haven't decided yet. Snow valley is a little ways away from the Bruce. I'll pick something though, and it'll be awesome. Wait and see. Generally I'll be looking to hike around 10km total at a pace of around 4kph. 10km is quite gentle, though 4kph is an energetic pace for many people. Be prepared to hike. I just emphasize this slightly to address those people purely interested in tubing.

These halves are inseparable, please don't sign up if you only want to do half the trip.

Looking forward to seeing you all; it should be a gentle and fun day.

P.S.> We may, depending on the tyranny of the majority, stop for a small bite to eat or a drink on the conclusion of our hike.

P.P.S.> Given the weekend, and that I still like candy, I will bring some temporally appropriate items to share :)
