EVENT DETAILS

THE CARPOOL LEAVES SHEPPARD WEST STATION AT 8:15 AM

This is my first time leading this particular route with the TOC.
I've led all of the sections at least 3 times previously, just not in this configuration.
This hike will be a combination of the Bruce Trail, its side trails and some provincial park trails.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water.
We'll stop for a lunch stop about 12.5 KM into the hike at a beautiful spot next to the river.

If you cannot walk the entire distance please do not sign up for this hike.

    EVENT STATS
  • Distance: 23 KM
  • Terrain: Single track dirt trails, rocky climbs and a few paved and dirt roads.
  • Trail vs Road: 17 km vs 6 km
  • Elevation Range: 150 meters
  • Challenging Climbs of Note: 2 climbs of at least 50 meters, several short rolling hills
  • Largest Climb: 110 meters up the Devil's Pulpit
  • Washrooms: Potentially 2. 1 located at the 9 KM mark and the other located at the 12.5 KM mark beside our lunch spot.
However, the 2nd location isn't always open in the winter.
  • Highlights: 'pretty winter gorge' & 'the Devil's Pulpit'

Those willing to drive, will get first priority on the wait list, should they be needed.
DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!!

For those of you choosing to meet at the event location, instead of the carpool, please ensure that you come on time

I’ve set the maximum event count at 1 as I don’t want to add anyone to the event until I have enough carpool drivers to accommodate passengers.
I will try accommodate up to 15 people.

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.
You can find the pair I use, 'here from Amazon'.
