Itinerary:

By signing up for this event, you agree to, and acknowledge, the following:

  2. If you are unvaccinated and have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, you are compelled by law to be in quarantine and cannot lawfully attend this event, as per the Federal Government’s website
  3. You will take and pass the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment on-line questionnaire. within 48 hours of the start of the event.
  4. Should this event involve a car pool, you will wear a face mask at all times when inside a vehicle

This 12 KM hike will be following the Bruce Trail as well as the side trails, traversing past Smokey Hollow Falls in Burlington and a pair of lookouts.
The trail is mostly dirt with small paved sections.
We'll stop for a snack break along the trail


DISTANCE: About 12 km

PACE: About 4.5 km/h

DIFFICULTY: D3


MAX hikers: about 15 (+ or -)
I set the Maximum Group Size to 1, because I need car pool drivers first, and then will add passengers, but this event can accommodate about 15 hikers.
Passengers will be added as additional drivers become available.
Members on the waiting list who are willing to drive may get first priority.
Alternatively, you can drive and meet us at the hike starting location.

    Event Directions:

    the starting location is the parking lot at 2198 Kerns Road in Kerncliff Park. 43°20'54.1"N 79°51'32.1"W

    Please note that my event directions are from Kipling Station. To change the map to options that better suit you, please click "MORE OPTIONS" link the 'Directions' map (below) and then you can add your own address into the search.

    • Leave Kipling Station and head east to Kipling Avenue.
    • Turn right onto Kipling and follow south 3 KM to the Gardner Expressway.
    • Take the Gardner Expressway WEST. Please note that you have to merge over 2 lanes very quickly to stay on the QEW to continue west.
    • Follow the QEW for 40 KM until Exit 101, Brant Street / RR 18 in Burlington.
    • Turn right (north) onto Brant Street and then immediately turn left (WEST) at the first light at North Service Road.
    • Follow North Service Road for 1 KM and turn right at Kerns Road.
    • Follow Kerns Road for 2.5 KM and turn RIGHT into Kerncliff Park, which is 2198 Kerns Road.

    POTENTIAL WASHROOM STOP

    There's a Tim Hortons located at the south-west corner of North Service Road and Brant Street.
