EVENT DETAILS

So, this is my first attempt at coordinating a hike to the ' Scarbourgh Bluffs'.
So, if it doesn't go well, I will learn from it and improve it for another year.

Here's my general plan

  • Leave from Scarborough GO Station at 10 AM
  • Walk down to the Bluffs for 5 KM, which should take 1-1.5 hours
  • Stop for about 45 minutes to an hour for those who are interested in doing self exploration.
  • Then whoever would like to rejoin me to walk back to Scarborough GO Station for another 3.5 KM, so another 1-1.5 hours.

This hike will be on a combination of neighbourhood sidewalks, paved path paths, gravel and muddy trails. Maybe, a little sand if you choose to walk on the beach

We'll have to climb one of the longest road hills in Toronto on the hike back from the Bluffs. Its about 100 meter climb and is about 1 km long.
There are 2 smaller 25 meter hills on the hike, but they will feel like nothing compared to the long climb.
If you don't want to climb back up, that's fine as the TTC now runs a bus every 15 minutes down to the beach at the Bluffs going to Kennedy Station.
Or you can always call an uber or taxi.

We'll aim for a pace of about 4-5 km/h on the walk.

There is a washroom located at the bottom of the Bluffs, which you will be able to use during the break.
