EVENT DETAILS

So, the random hike picker has suggested this hike for tonight.

This 12.5 KM hike will traverse between Pioneer Village Station and Finch Station, with an option of dropping off at Finch West Station, about 4.5 km into the hike.
Some interesting spots include

  • 'The Black Creek'.
  • 'G. Ross Lord Park'.
  • 'The Neighbourhood of Newtonbrook'.
  • This hike will be mainly paved park paths, with a a few neighbourhood sidewalks sprinkled in.

We probably have about 3 hills on this route of at least 25 meters.

    We'll aim for a quicker pace of 4.5-5.5 km/h.

I'm hoping that the washroom in G. Ross Lord Park is open, which we should hit about an hour and a half into the hike.
If not, Antibies community centre should be open, which we'll probably hit at the 1 hr, 45 minute mark.
A additional positive is that there's a washroom at both the start/finish stations available.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

Take Line 1, Yonge-University all the way north to Pioneer Village Station. This station is located 4 stations north of Sheppard West and 2 Stations south of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

We'll meet outside Steeles Exit to the Station, which is beside the regional bus terminal (NOT THE TTC ONE). For those of you who don't know the station, exit the station via the north staircase (if you don't know which is the north staircase, just follow the direction of the northbound train).

For those of you driving, address of the entrance is 2800 Steeles Avenue West, which is located on the north side of Steeles between Jane & Keele. There is a TTC parking lot just behind the bus terminal.

(Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt) - if its cold or wet, i'll just be in the station doors.
