Itinerary:
A pleasant urban hike from Broadview to Leslie.
We will walk from Broadview to Leslie TTC station
along green belts and park lands beside the Don
River.
We'll be moving at a steady pace of around 5km/h (~3mph)

This is NOT a leisurely stroll.
If I've never hiked with you before on a hike of similar length & distance,
be prepared to tell me about your recent
experiences hiking.

We'll meet inside Broadview subway station.
Then we'll head down to the East Riverside park
and up to Leslie along the Don trails,
passing several parks and the Toronto Botanical Gardens along the way.

We will have some quick water/snack/bathroom
breaks as needed; NO DESIGNATED LUNCH BREAK.

There will be numerous options to cut the walk
short via transit if you are worried about being
able to finish.
Most of the trail is paved.
There may be one ~1.5km section of sidewalk near
York Mills, as well as a few short dirt trail
sections.
The terrain will be largely flat with 2-3 gradual hills.

BRING SHOES THAT ARE COMFORTABLE, WITH GOOD TRACTION.

ALWAYS KEEP ICERS ON HAND IN THE WINTER.
IF I FIND AT THE START THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE THEM WITH YOU,
I MAY ASK YOU TO LEAVE THE GROUP.

Required Items to Bring:
2-3L of water (what you need for the walk)
Snacks as needed
Weather appropriate clothing
Extremely comfy hiking boots/shoes
Cell phone (fully charged!)
OHIP/health card
ICERS--you can buy them at hardware stores, Canadian Tire, MEC, from Amazon...
