Itinerary: | |||||||
A few years ago I accidentally discovered a
street whose residents go bonkers with the
Halloween decorations in their yards. There is
another house nearby that also goes wild
decorating their house and yard. The street and
house are close to each other, so let's go on a
leisurely walk on Halloween Eve and check them
out without the chaos of trick or treaters and
pranksters. We will meet at Runnymede Station and wander around some neighbourhood streets checking out some of the more tame Halloween decorations. Next we'll walk down the street with the crazy decorations, then head to the single house, affectionately known as the "crazy house". Once we finish at the crazy house, we will walk a short distance to Dundas West Station where the walk will end. This will be a true urban hike walking solely on sidewalks. There aren't any major hills along the way, just a few rolling sections. We will be walking at a leisurely 4.0 km/h and will be stopping along the way to check out the Halloween decorations. Please plan to arrive before the posted start time, we will be leaving immediately at 8:00pm. I will turn my phone off once we begin, so any calls or messages will likely not be returned until the end of the hike. This hike will go forward rain or shine. A high risk of a thunderstorm (80%+) 24 hours prior may result in postponement or cancellation.

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | We will meet at Runnymede Subway Station which
in located on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (also
known as Line 2) on Runnymede Rd just north of
Bloor St W. We will meet outside the Runnymede
Rd exit (NOT the Kennedy Rd exit). Look for me
with a Blue Jays cap and a black backpack.
