Hike (ca 15 km) in Long Sault Conservation Area and Blueberries picking (8/18/2018)

Itinerary:


Hiking in Long Sault Conservation Area (ca. 15 km) followed by visit to a local farm to pick-your- own blueberries. If you are not interested in picking blueberries, you can have coffee with (of course) fresh blueberry pie and enjoy the view of the blueberry fields while sitting at the farm's picnic area. Attention: you have to pay for blueberries you pick.


This trip combines scenic trails with visit of a local farm to pick blueberries and/or have a coffee with blueberry pie :).

CARPOOL DEPARTURE Kipling subway station passengers' pick-up, Saturday, August 18, 8:30 AM.
DISTANCE Ca. 15 km
PACE Ca 4 km/hour. No dropouts. We will hike as a group, and nobody will jump ahead leaving the group behind.
TRAIL DETAILS We will hike as a group 2-3 scenic trails through a partly rugged terrain of mixed hardwood forest which is a part of Oak Ridges Moraine.
LUNCH Bring your lunch for a lunch break at a picnic area.
HIGHLIGHTS Hiking and visit of a farm to pick blueberries (you have to pay for the blueberries you pick)
PRIORITY Priority will go to DRIVERS WILLING TO TAKE PASSENGERS. Additional spots will be added depending on space in the carpool. Big thank you to drivers!!
WEATHER Cancellation in the case of heavy rain, lightning and/or thunder. Please NO SMOKERS, NO PETS.
