This is a 2 day 1 night trip. This part 3 of a series of trips to explore the QEII Wildlands. This is a more relaxed trip with minimal portaging(100m) So we can pack more luxury items to enjoy the long weekend. This rewarding paddle willtake us along a tranquil river but before will include a stretch over a large lake so you must be comfortable with this as the conditions can vary. On Saturday morning we will drive up and put in at Head Lake From the put in we will paddle Head Lake and portage into Fishog where we will set up camp. There are (rare)opportunities to spot wildlife such as moose, deer, bear, coyotes and wolves Once at camp there are options to hit hiking trails, canoeing down other routes or vegging in the camp if you like. This is an opportunity to canoe into places that are rarely frequented by other people. We will leave the park on Sunday and be back at the cars by 4 pm. From there we can drive to Coboconk, have a meal at the local eatery and sort out shared costs then head back to Toronto hopefully by 8. There will be a pretrip planning sheet to make sure everyone has proper gear. Canoeist with a bit of experience are invited to sign up YOU MUST INDICATE YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL. I have done this trip before and you can look it up on the TOC website. If you have any questions contact me ASAP.
