Itinerary: | |||||||
This is a 2 day 1 night trip. It is part 1 of a series of trips to penetrate into the QeII wildlands using various routes. The trip is designed as an easier trip for the upcoming season for newish paddlers. We will get practice doing a portage and not get too deep in the bush. Saturday morning we will drive up and put in at Devils Lake Access. From the put in we will paddle up Devil's Lake and portage through to Sheldon Lake where we will set up camp.This should take about 2 hour. There is about 1400 m of portaging in one stretch. Once at camp there are options to hit hiking trails, canoeing down other routes, fishing or vegging in the camp if you like. We will leave the park on Sunday and be back at the cars by 4 pm. From there we can drive to Coboconk, have a meal at the local eatery and sort out shared costs then head back to Toronto hopefully by 8. There will be a pretrip planning sheet to make sure everyone has proper gear. New Canoeist with a bit of experience are invited to sign up YOU MUST INDICATE YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL. If you have any questions contact me ASAP. | |||||||
