Itinerary:
D is for… the Danforth. And the Distillery District!

And as luck will have it, the Distillery District is hosting the first “Toronto Light Fest”. You may have seen the adverts in the TTC (I did), or you may have just been checking out the upcoming events at the Distillery District (me, too). Or maybe this is all new to you! Either way, it sounds pretty exciting, and as I’m hoping the vast majority of my alphabet hikes will be, it’s FREE!

This means that this hike will be starting in the early evening, and end at dusk as we arrive at the Light Fest. To make it more fun, though, we’ll start off by hiking most of The Danforth, starting at Victoria Park. The hike there will be about 10 km, mostly along the Danforth, which is certainly worthy of an Alphabet hike on its own! Then we’ll use the trails to meander down to the District, arriving around sunset, which is when the light fest begins each night. The official event ends there, but at that point, I figure we’ll explore the light fest together, and whoever is still around, maybe find a brew somewhere! At some point I’ll be walking back to Union Station (another 2km), and anyone still around can join me.

Lastly: I know this is short notice, but I had already had it in my mind; when when I saw the forecast for the weekend (guys, they’re calling for 11C on Saturday!), I made up my mind this had to be it!
