Daytime - Urban hike on G-Ross Park and Maria Park total 20km @4.5KM /hr (12/23/2016)

DISTANCE: 20 km

PACE: about 5.5 km/h a lively pace

DIFFICULTY: D4


We will meet at 930AM at Downsview subway station passenger pick up. We will walk a bit on the road then we will come to G-ross park then we continue on Maria Park.
And come back on the same route. The total distance is about 20KM. Drop off is allowed. Depending on the group, we will hike at 4.5km/hour and we will have quick lunch .So hopefully we will finish by 130 pm.

Note:

If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it's icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC ( KAHTOOLA MICROSPIKES are recommended.)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:The map is showing one way 10.74KM,but we will come back on the same way as well. So it is 10.72x2=21.4KM - around 20KM. We might take some shortcut.

  • TTC:
    1. Take University line north to Downsview Station
    2. Meet at the Passenger Drop-Off Point outside the station entrance
  • Car from 401:
    1. Head north on Allen Road to Sheppard Ave
    2. Turn right on Sheppard
    3. Turn right into the station entranceway
  • Car from 407:
    1. Head south on Dufferin Road to Sheppard Ave
    2. Turn left on Sheppard
    3. Turn right into the station entranceway

For those driving, parking is free at Downsview Station on weekends
