Itinerary:
It's September 3rd, the date that the American spacecraft Viking 2 landed at Utopia Planitia on Mars 40 years ago. To commemorate this historical occasion, let's play some ultimate.

We will meet up at the open field at the southeast corner of Christie Pits Park (see the map below for directions) and start with a 10-15 minute warmup. Once everyone is ready to go, we will go through the basic rules, form teams, and play a few nice friendly games of ultimate with an emphasis on friendly .. and nice. Any and all skill levels are encouraged to come out and play. The ability to catch or throw a frisbee will certainly help, but is not required for this event. Just be prepared to run!

The rules of ultimate are fairly simple. If you are unfamiliar with them, this is a good place to start. I'm reasonably well versed in the rules and am happy to answer any questions about them before or during play.

Postgame beverage(s) and/or lunch at a nearby pub is encouraged but not required.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a scheduled subway closure between Pape and St. George Stations on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (also known as Line 2). If you need to traverse this section of the subway be sure to give yourself extra time. Shuttle buses are much slower than subway trains.

Required Items to Bring:

How to Get There:
Event Directions:TTC: Take the subway to Christie Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (also known as Line 2). Exit the station and cross Christie St to Christie Pits Park. There is a paved path that goes down into the park towards the main baseball diamond, the field will be setup in the open area next to that path.

Automobile: Christie Pits Park is at the corner of Bloor St W & Christie St. There are a few Green P lots nearby or you can try to find street parking on nearby side streets.
