Itinerary:
After a short hiatus, Hike For A Slice is back with a route that may be familiar to some of the regulars. There's a lot of stairs on this hike because I like stairs and I want you to earn that slice. In fact, you might want two slices after this hike.

The hike will start at Broadview Station and follow this route:
• Head south through Riverdale Park East, cross the DVP over to Riverdale Park West.
• North to Rosedale Valley Road and head west.
• West through Ramsden Park then northwest through Roycroft Park.
• South along neighbourhood streets through Tarragon Village.
• Down the 100+ stairs at Casa Loma (woo-hoo!).
• Along more neighbourhood streets in The Annex to Spadina & Harbord.
• Head to a nearby pizza place for a slice (if you wish).

Route Rundown:
Distance: 10.5km
Pace: Between 4.5 - 5.0 km/h
Expected Time: 2 - 2.5 hours + pizza time
Trails: I'd say about 65% paved trails or sidewalks and 35% dirt/gravel sections.
Terrain: Fairly flat with some rolling sections and six sets of stairs.

Following the hike I will take anyone so inclined to a local pizza joint for a slice (or maybe two, I'll explain at the event), but this part of the event is optional. This pizzeria features good sized slices of thin crust pizza with a good crunch. They offer several different types of slices, including a few vegetarian options.

See map below for start/end points and the rough hiking route. Click the points on the map for transit information.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Broadview Subway Station is located on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (also known as Line 2) at the corner of Broadview Ave and Danforth Ave.

We will meet at the small parkette immediately north of the station. We will meet at the stone path just past the fence where the streetcars exit the station (see image below). Look for me with a black backpack and a Blue Jays cap.

Notes:
Please plan to arrive before the posted start time, we will be leaving immediately at 6:30pm. I will turn my phone off once we begin, so any calls or messages will likely not be returned until the end of the hike.

This hike will go forward rain or shine or snow. A high risk of a thunderstorm (80%+) 24 hours before may result in postponement or cancellation.
