DISTANCE: 13 km

PACE: 6+ km/h

DIFFICULTY: D4 - pace will be quick, no straggling !!


Along a mix of paved, gravel and dirt paths.
Between kms 3 - 5 we will be on dirt mountain bike trails with some STEEP STEEP ups and downs!!
There may be a few muddy sections.

The fine print

  • Have you wanted to come out on a FAST hike but weren't sure if you could keep up?
  • Well, this "ALMOST FAST" hike might be for you.
  • Please, if you sign up for this hike, ensure that you can walk about 6 km/h for 13 km.
  • This is an ALMOST FAST HIKE for strong hikers, IT IS NOT A CASUAL STROLL.
  • (FYI - a FAST HIKE would be 6.5 - 10+ km/h)

This is the route we will take.

  • Start at Lawrence subway station, (S.E. corner of Yonge St & Lawrence Ave)
  • east through parks and bike trails to Serena Gundy Park
  • over to Glendon Campus
  • west through various parks
  • End at Lawrence subway station

Event Directions:

We'll meet on the South-East corner of Yonge St and Lawrence Ave, near the 'Locke' branch of the Toronto Public Library across the street from the Lawrence Subway Station Entrance.

Lawrence Subway Station is located on the Yonge Subway Line, two stops south of Sheppard and 6 Stations north of Bloor.

This hike will go forth snow, rain or shine

(although kerfuffles, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, general discombobulation and consternation, or hurricanes may cause cancellation)
