Itinerary:
Please join me at one of my favourite places within an hour's drive of Toronto.

Lynde Shores Conservation Area is a lovely little conservation area with two provincially significant marshes and a wooded area where birds are fed during the winter. It's a great place to see wildlife: cardinals, blue jays, ducks, geese, and rabbits, as well as less common species that migrate through, such as swans and songbirds. In the summer, I have seen hawks here. In the winter (especially), chickadees will eat sunflower seeds from your hand.

I'm not sure what we'll see on this particular day, but we'll go with an open mind and just focus on enjoying nature, in whatever way it reveals itself on our short trip.

PLEASE NOTE: This is *not* an athletic hike, but a nature hike. If you are interested in getting a good workout, this is not the event for you. Paths are flat, the pace will be SLOW, and the distance is not far. The emphasis will be on engaging with nature.

Trails might be somewhat muddy/gravelly, so please wear appropriate footwear.

After an hour or so at the conservation area, we will drive a short distance to a yummy deli (owned by a hard-working Lebanese family) to experience what my former co-workers and I used to call "big- a$$ed pitas". They are large pitas stuffed with falafel or meats, other ingredients, and garlicky tzaziki. Prices are quite affordable, considering the sheer weight of the meal!!! :)

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: Dogs are absolutely NOT - ***NOT*** - welcome on this event. Lynde Shores is an environmentally sensitive area, and dogs are not allowed on the site.
