The Hills of Earl Bales??

Let's climb the ski hills of Earl Bales Park a bunch of times. Maybe 5, 10 or 15 times?

This D3 hike will be between 8 km to 12 km depending how many times you climb the ski hill

It will be along a mix of paved, gravel and dirt paths, and the grass on the ski hill.

If you want to climb the hill only once or twice, then lounge around while others go up and down and up and down..... that`s ok.

If you do the hill once, your hike will be about 8 km.
The 12 km distance is based on my arbitrary guess that I would do the hill 10 times.

We'll start and end at North York Centre subway station, maintaining a moderate pace of 5 km

This will be our route

  • Depart from North York Centre
  • West through York Cemetery
  • South through Burnett Park
  • climb the ski hills of Earl Bales Park a bunch of times
  • then back to North York Centre

For those driving:

On weekends you can PARK FOR FREE at Finch subway station and walk 20 minutes south along Yonge St. to our starting location.

Or, there is street parking after 6 pm in the area, west of Beecroft Rd

Or, there's a pay parking lot on the North-East corner at Empress/Park Home and Yonge Street, which is three traffic lights north of Sheppard Ave. Then it's just a short walk to the Starbucks, which is located on the south-west side.

Look for me with a whistle on my backpack.
