What's SUP!...

SUP is an acronym that stands for “standup paddleboarding”. One of the fastest growing watersport in the world - standup paddle boarding has its roots where all board sports have their beginnings, in Hawaii. It’s an off-shoot of surfing and is basically a combination of surfing with kayaking. SUP provides a full-body cross-training workout as well as spawning new forms of fitness yoga. It’s popularity due in large part for minimal gear, whilst allowing paddling in the ocean, surf, lakes, rivers and the back-country.

Discover Stand up Paddle Boarding

This fun 2.5 hour, Paddle Canada Basic SUP Certified Course, is designed to provide the necessary skills for paddling on enclosed sheltered waters in calm conditions. Some of the many skills covered include equipment selection, paddling in a straight line, kneeling and standing on a board, forward & turning strokes, safety and awareness. After our lesson, we're allowed to use the rented paddle boards for some extra play time. Each participant receives a Paddle Canada Certificate for Basic Standup Paddleboarding.

Centennial Park is home to one of Barrie’s largest beaches. Situated on the shore of beautiful Kempenfelt Bay, this park includes mini golf, recreation trail, food concession and beach volleyball.
