Itinerary:
It's Friday night .. let's hike!

I haven't really checked out the entirety of the Beaches area, so let's go check it out. We will meet downtown at Berczy Park (see below for directions) and head east along the Esplanade to the Lower Don Trail. We will continue hiking east along the Lower Don Trail until we meet up with the Martin Goodman Trail, then continue east along the beaches to Neville Park Loop where the hike will end.

We will be walking on sidewalks, paved trails, and boardwalks so a good pair of running shoes or light hiking shoes will work nicely. The route is very flat with a few minor ups and downs at the beginning.

The total distance is about 10km and we will be going at a fairly easy pace of 4.0km/h. I expect the hike to take about 3 hours. This is intended to be a leisurely walk along the beaches to kick off the weekend. I expect we will get some nice views of the lake and beach at sunset, so cameras and photo ops are encouraged. We will take plenty of breaks for those who wish to take some photos. If you are typically a speed demon hiker, be prepared to tone it down!

Please plan to arrive before the posted start time, we will be leaving immediately at 6:30pm. This hike will take place rain or shine.

See map below for start/end points and the rough hiking route. Click the points on the map for transit information.
